Eun-ryoung, born in Seoul, Korea, August 18th, 1970, received her M.S. (Health Education) degree from the Graduate School of Ewha Womans' University (Seoul) in 1995. She started her professional life as a Public Health Teacher at the Ko-Chuk High School in Seoul. She then worked as a Senior Research Assistant at the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs (KIHASA) in Seoul (1995-97) and later at the Ajou university School of Medicine. Since 1998 she is also studying Telecommunication at the Graduate School of Ajou University (Suwon), where she received a full scholarship due to her academic achievements.

She is doing her PhD in Epidemiology at the university of Pittsburgh. Her major research interests include telemedicine, telecare and teleprevention.

Eunryoung and Gunther met at the World Congress on Medical Informatics (Medinfo'98) in Seoul/Korea in 1998, got engaged in 1999 and finally got married in 2003 in Toronto/Canada (see City Hall Wedding, Church/Korean Wedding pictures).

The most exciting outcome of our "collaboration" is Lily.
